🎊 We did it!

The village bought itself. Turning land into it's own owner. And we are quickly progressing on our next funding milestones.

This is a short note following up on last weeks post, just to say that …

We did it!
We reached our 253 800€ goal to move the TDF assets under our Portuguese holding company 🎊 That means locking land in perpetuity under regenerative commons under the OASA constitution. It means building up the balance sheet of the holding company this fall be > 1M€, giving a regenerative project serious credibility with banks & institutions. It means handing the keys further from the founders to a broader community. In the same time we just reached our 300 token holders marc! That means 300 people that help shape our governs for the future. And it solidly anchors this new model we’ve been prototyping for years as an alternative for regenerative communities, ecovillages etc. One that supports with two of the top components that break communities in their starting years: funding & solid governance that displaces interpersonal conflicts.

But wait, there’s more. Our funding round on Artizen took an even steeper curve when we won a 66k$ cash prize last week. That means we’ve already locked up over 100k€ towards our construction budgets for Spring 2027. Now we are raising the final 200k€ that will move us from abandoned chicken farm to visionary solarpunk hub with unique rooms tailored for citizens of the 21st century. With 300k€ construction budget in our accounts, we can engage with a bank to finance the remaining 75% of the construction - and finally build the 14 room hospitality project, and the 30 seat restaurant. This unlocks a huge cash flow and proper operations that makes TDF resilient financially for generations to come. It also gives the $TDF token a much increased utility.

Our focus for this fall will be on curating who our next round of Citizens will be. So far we have 60 Citizens - meaning members of our community who are more engaged and hold 30+ tokens. Citizens might not live at TDF full time, but they keep coming back year after year. And over time we have transitioned from strangers with shared dreams, to friends, and some would even say family. The Citizen are the beating heart of this project. They can make governance proposals, vote on any important decisions (such as approving our tokenomics or land design), and they are learning together how to care for land again, all while having fun in the process.
